Results of design group two
from second Zone Rec workshop
- Lots of trees in parking lot and throughout property
- Natural sound barrier along highway
- Pool with diving boards south of parking lot that possibly uses rainwater runoff from parking lot (first going through a filtration system);
- Pool house east of pool with concession stand, wading/ ice skating pool, water fountain;
- Possibly water park for little kids
- Convert part of building to a greenhouse; wildflower garden adjacent to it
- Public art at NW corner of grounds near street intersection
- Turn gazebo into picnic area with benches
- Move all fields west, minimizing gap between soccer field and gazebo area
- In far east area, construct wetland with a mini nature center (with programming such as stream restoration); include picnic tables north of wetland
- Storm water runoff from parking lot that flows into restored stream running along the southern edge of the property to the wetland.
- On eastern edge of property make a promenade
- Put in more safety lights and bike racks scattered throughout property
- Add a path (biking and walking) to divide the natural wetland/ educational area and the recreational area
- Bathrooms and drinking fountains near all fields
