Results of design group one
from second Zone Rec workshop
- Reduce parking behind building, leaving 1 row adjacent to W. 65th St.
- Make entrance driveway from Lorain Avenue to entrance of building and connecting to parking lot (one-way traffic flow).
- Vegetation along front driveway; lots of public art there and murals on building walls
- Security lighting on W. 65th St.
- Visible signage at building entrance driveway
- Replace back parking lot with grills and picnic tables
- On SW side of building: Kid's pool and outdoor swimming pool serving as an ice skating rink during the winter
- Wall of trees for sound barrier between highway and park
- Band shell/amphitheater on east side of building
- Skate park and sand volleyball courtfar south west (adjacent to highway)
- Community garden just east of volleyball court (along highway) with flowers and veggies; trees and benches
- Restrooms scattered around the grounds: Next to community garden, in between soccer baseball field, and playground
- Far east grounds: Playground, benches, picnic tables, grills, entranceway
- Fields and paths: Better maintenance, consider more efficient spacing; possibility of another soccer field
- Seating and trees along all fields
- Concession stand in between baseball and soccer field
- Additional path in between soccer and baseball field
- Trees, lights, water fountains, benches, and grills scattered along all paths
- Multi-purpose paths: Biking, Rollerblading, walking
- Pedestrian connection to RTA stop on Lorain Ave. just west of tennis courts
- Path along Lorain Ave. from east entrance of the area to RTA connection on Lorain
